Our Story
Summer 2020
We first met in the heart of the COVID-19 pandemic. Our first dates consisted of carry-out meals, movie nights, hanging out with friends, and walks around Purdue’s campus. Fun fact: our first photo was months into dating since no one wanted to exchange phones in public! Eventually, Lizzy made Brett cut his hair and we never looked back!
Since then, we have…
Visited each other’s schools.
Lizzy spent countless times at Purdue hanging out with Brett’s friends/teammates, who have since become her friends too. Brett learned the ropes at IU with her friends, including nights out at Kilroy’s and Upstairs Pub!
Attended many Purdue swim meets.
Brett did all the work while Lizzy cheered him and his teammates on from the stands!
Attended many college football games.
One of our favorite things to do together. We cheer for three teams between the two of us. Brett hasn’t been convinced quite yet to wear an IU or Ohio State shirt! Lizzy on the other hand, knows all the words to the Purdue fight song!
Celebrated 11 birthdays (and counting!)
Brett and Lizzy were both born on the 7th day of their birthday month. Exactly 1 year and 1 month apart in age!
Graduated three times.
Lizzy graduated from Indiana University in 2021 and started the Physician Assistant program at Butler University shortly after. Brett graduated from Purdue University in 2022. Lizzy graduated from Butler University a year later in 2023. We knew that if we could get through Lizzy’s time in PA school, we could get through anything!
Enjoyed time together.
Been each other’s wedding dates.
Created holiday traditions and memories.
Adopted a dog named Gilbert.
We adopted Gilbert in 2023, and we quickly fell in love with being dog parents. We couldn’t imagine our lives without this crazy little guy!
