Welcome to Indianapolis.
This is our home, and we’ve created so many memories here. If you have some extra time, here are some recommendations to make the most of your weekend!
Downtown Indianapolis
-
Near Monument Circle
Our hotel block will be located near the circle. There’s lots to do within walking distance! Or you can Uber/Lyft around the city!
-Astrea Rooftop Bar
17 W Market St 11th Floor, Indianapolis, IN 46204
Located on the 11th floor of the Intercontinental Hotel. Amazing views and vibes!
-St. Elmo Steak House
127 S Illinois St, Indianapolis, IN 46225
The classic and most famous Indianapolis steakhouse. If you are looking for a nice dinner while you are in town, come here for the shrimp cocktail and dinner. There is also a lounge (1933 Lounge) to get drinks.
-Tin Roof
36 S Pennsylvania St, Indianapolis, IN 46204
For a bar with live music. Note- sometimes they charge cover!
-Kilroy’s Bar & Grill
201 S Meridian St, Indianapolis 46225
Of course, for all the IU grads (or Purdue grads that want to branch out), we have to recommend Kilroy’s. Located a couple blocks south of Monument Circle and next to Gainbridge Fieldhouse. Although not the same as KOK, it’ll do. Ask for the Long Island iced tea menu. Lizzy gets the water long and Brett gets the AMF. Don’t forget their amazing stuffed breadsticks!
-
Mass Ave
If you want to venture away from the circle, this is one of the more popular streets in downtown Indianapolis. Off Mass Ave, you will find many restaurants, bars, and entertainment options. Here’s some recommendations, but there’s too many to list!
- Burnside Inn
314 Mass Ave, Indianapolis 46204
If you’re like Lizzy and Moscow mules are your drink of choice, we recommend going here. Their entire menu is different types of mules. Blake, Brett, and Ben recommend the ice cream sandwiches.
- Bodhi
922 Mass Ave, Indianapolis, IN 46202
For amazing Thai food with a cool vibe, we recommend eating here. The pad Thai is amazing. Just keep in mind, they tend to get busy quickly and do not allow reservations. Find a spot at the bar!
- The Rathskeller
401 E. Michigan St, Indianapolis, IN 46204
Live music on Friday and Saturday nights until 11pm in the Biergarten.
- Nowhere Special
608 Mass Ave, Indianapolis, IN 46204
A super fun speakeasy with unique drinks.
- Ball & Biscuit
One of Lizzy’s favorites. The bartenders create their own rotating cocktail menu.
-
Bottleworks District
This is one of our favorite areas. On the very north-end of Mass Ave, the former Coca Cola Factory was renovated into the Bottleworks Hotel. Around the hotel, you will find some of our favorites:
- Sundry and Vice: bar with a cool vibe, located in the hotel lobby.
- Pins Mechanical and Co: super fun arcade bar with great drinks. Located next to Garage Food Hall.
- Garage Food Hall: if you’re travelling with a group and you can’t decide on one type of food. There’s pretty much any type of food you would want, along with a bar.
- Blue Collar Coffee: located in the hotel lobby.
There’s plenty of shops, last minute nail and hair salons, restaurants, a movie theater, and more.
